Our Story

"I ordered my first African print dress online in 2019.

It arrived in a plastic bag with no packaging. The print was painted on polyester. The colors were null and cheap looking — nothing like the photo. I couldn't return it without store credit. I threw it away.

I ordered again six months later. Different store. Same story.

The third time I waited eight weeks and nothing came.

After that third time I sat down and asked myself one question. How is it that every store selling to us keeps getting away with this?

Because we keep trying and failing and starting over and never staying angry long enough to build the alternative ourselves.

I am not a fashion designer. I am a Black woman from Atlanta who was tired of being cheated and decided to do something about it.

I tested every dress on real women — not size 4 models. Women with real arms and real chests and real hips. If the zipper pulled we recut it. If the sleeves squeezed we rebuilt them.

Under 5'3"? The length runs long. Most petite women add a simple 2-inch hem — any tailor can do it in minutes, or it's easy to do at home.
